Frames

We are proud to offer a vast variety of different styles, shapes, and colors to fit every personality. For those who like the newest styles, we carry brands like Coach, Kate Spade, and Gucci. If you like your eyeglasses to blend in as much as possible, we have drill-mounted frames from Silhouette. A little more rough on your glasses? We offer Flexon and Nike. We even have reduce-priced frames for those on a strict budget.

Sunglasses

We stock a large selection of brands like Maui Jim, Oakley, and RayBan. We carry both prescription and non prescription sunglasses. All of our sunglasses have UV protection, even those for over your contact lenses. Polycarbonate polarized lenses offer the best protection since they are shatter resistant, have UV protection, and reduce the glare off asphalt and water.

Lenses

We are pleased to offer the best technologies available for lenses at reasonable prices. Shop around and save, you will see that our prices are lower than most of our competitors.

Do you get glare off headlights at night? Do your eyes feel strained and tired when on the computer? Then, Crizal Anti-Reflective Lenses are right for you. These popular lenses are designed to reduce the “halo” effect of night driving and rainy weather. They also help to reduce eye fatigue that is often felt from being on computers, especially under fluorescent lighting. The extra benefit, the cosmetics! Others can see your eyes, not the white reflection off your lenses.

Transitions Lenses are available in almost every prescription. These lenses lighten and darken with UV light. This means, the more sunlight, the more UV light, the darker the lenses will get. You don't have to do a thing. (Please note that most car windshields do have a UV protection. This will prevent the lenses from getting extremely dark while driving, even on the brightest days. For this reason, the majority of patients have separate sunglasses for driving.)

Progressive lenses are often described as “no-lined bifocals.“ They are one set of lenses that offer vision for distance, mid-range (computer length), and reading without the lines. Rather than carrying several sets of glasses, these lenses have every focal point needed. Often, patients that only require reading glasses decide on progressive lenses with no distance prescription, simply so they do not have to take their glasses on and off all day.

Progressive lens technologies have improved drastically throughout the years. Though distortion has decreased dramatically in all brands, there are a few brands that really stand out amongst the rest. Varilux has utilized 360 Digital Surfacing. This sharpens vision and comfort with wider fields of vision by customizing the lenses to the individual's prescription and measurements. Varilux also created W.A.V.E. Technology (Wavefront Advanced Vision Enhancement) in the Physio lens. This is based on the same technology used during Lasik surgery and is used to help eliminate even the smallest distortions in the lens. Definity lenses are designed with the Ground View Advantage. This makes a smooth transition of distance and reading, especially helpful when walking up and down stairs.

Children's Glasses

Since Stamford Ophthalmology has a pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Andrew Wolf, we have a larger amount of children's frames than the average optical shop. And, since kids will be kids, we carry some of the most durable brands, like Flexon and Easy Twist. These brands are made with memory titanium metal that is the most resistant to breakage. We also have a variety of sports goggles, like Rec Specs, for extra rough activities—soccer, baseball, and football, for example. These are designed for harder impact to help prevent your child from injury. We even have swim goggles and sunglasses for children.

We offer great lens package pricing for children 14 and under. All children's lenses are polycarbonate lenses that are shatter resistant. Lenses can be made in clear, transitions, or polarized.

Warranties

All lenses and frames automatically come with a one time, one year replacement warranty. This will replace any damaged frame and/or lenses at NO CHARGE TO YOU. This does not apply to lost or stolen eyewear and cannot be combined with any other discount, offer, or insurance.

Multiple Pair Discounts

Since we all need at least a backup pair of glasses, we offer 20% off multiple pairs of glasses. This includes: sunglasses for over your contacts, lenses only, emergency backup pair of glasses, reading, computer/work set, or even a golfing set of glasses.

We gladly accept American Express, MasterCard and VISA.
